PHP Security Workbook More about

Posted on Thursday, July 29, 2004 @ 08:38:21 CDT in Documentation

From the folks at PHP Magazine:

Chris Shiflett's tutorial on PHP Security was greeted by a jam-packed audience at the Salon F Hall at OSCON 2004. The tutorial provided for a thorough overview of various attacks against one's PHP applications, why they were a security concern, and how to program them in in order to defend against various attacks. Chris delivered his tutorial armed with 80 printed workbooks that was apparently insufficient to meet the needs of the gathering at Salon F. As Chris claims, his workbook for the tutorial is likely the most complete source of PHP security information and best practices available. If you weren't one of those lucky 80, then don't panic - Chris has put up a 55 page PDF of the tutorial workbook that you can download from here. You can also read Chris Shiflett's hit article "The Truth about Sessions" here.

dmolavi writes:
After a 2 month wait, a fourth, and hopefully final beta of the phpBB2/phpNuke integration HOWTO is available. There were a few minor changes and bug fixes that had to be made, and the guide has been split into two parts:
Part One (click here): For those with new phpNuke and new phpBB2 installations.
Part Two (click here): For those with existing phpNuke installations (and the Forums module) who wish to integrate standalone phpBB2 into their site as a replacement.

Please read them, try them out, and post any results to the appropriate fora.

Thanks,
Dariush Molavi

From Chris Karakas:
Hello Nukers,

The new version 2.0 of the PHP-Nuke HOWTO is finally released! I have added 400 pages to Claudio's text, so the new document is now over 500 pages long! See Credits for all the changes. It is also available as a PHP-Nuke module to install it on your site! As usual, this HOWTO is also available in many formats, including HTML, PDF, PS and even RTF, see the Formats section.

[Admin Note]: I've been spending some time in the manual this morning and I HIGHLY recommend this for EVERY nuke user. Chris has done an awsome job of collecting some of the best in class material and this should, in my opinion, be published. Read More...
