[NOTE 4/19/2003: I have updated this to include a check for the error reporting level issue that causes so many unwanted Notice messages in the Apache error_log and on the screen. If you have already downloaded the first file, please redownload to have the current one.]
I have made available a utility (syschk.zip) that will analyze your KISGB setup and provide you with valuable diagnostic information to help you (and me) set up and/or debug KISGB and your PHP system. It is very powerful and revealing and should not be left lying around your system!!! You should run this immediately after installing KISGB for an analysis. Please let me know your comments and enhancement requests if they are needed. Read on for more details. This system check will check the directory and file permissions, check certain very important settings and make suggestions if required, and will also run the phpinfo() program for you! This is usually the diagnostic information that you and I will need if we have problems. There is no external documentation. Just place the script in the same directory as your KISGB config.php file and execute by running http://yoursite.com/kisgb-directory/syschk.php . You will replace yoursite.com with your site url and kisgb-directory with the directory name for KISGB and you should rename the utility from syschk.php to ????.php.
Re: KISGB Analyzer and System Check Utility (Score: 1) | ![]() | Very, very nice!! Thank you again. That really gave me a lot of info. One question - it told me to change the default secure site info. Should I do that even if I don't run a secure site? |

You shouldn't have to and I need to tweak the message. Good catch! |
