I m tired of spam and found a Thunderbird addon to forward my e-mail spam to Knoun. Not sure if this would really reduce the kind of spam I receive daily because it looks like its from infected machines. The last one I got is from a army military server.Rolling Eyes Seems they have also a problem.

Its just often to hard and time consuming to find out who is the real sender.

Anyone tried this service:

Maybe I missed something, but I don't see any immediate benefit. I mean, categorizing and resending spam might be useful to a researcher, but it doesn't appear to be feeding a database that can be used to prevent or even identify spam. Following that line of logic, what is the benefit of the $27 reporting feature? You should already know how much spam you sent...

I must've missed something...like the report on the home page that they are working with the FTC (and others?) to shut down spammers. Maybe worth a try...

The reporting feature is really not so clear, but everybody can forward his spam and I believe its a good feeling to do something instead of ignore all this bad things.
I know that the team of CasteleCops.com is very active I ´ve just read an entry about
the criminal 'Rock Phish' domains registered at Nic.at.
However, its more realistic to say they can´t solve this problem alone.
Spam will exist as long as long as the world goes and on people try to make money.

Seems sorta like SpamCop. SpamCop is a more automated process and will actually show you how they're processing data to find the source. I use that whenever I want to track down a spam email.

However their block lists (I think) is only available to those users subscribing to their email protection services.

Thanks Evaders I will try SpamCop too. I have to sort my e-mail spam because I ´ll report this on different sites.
Don´t know exactly how they handle spam written in German but shouldn´t be a problem beneed this I receive enough english wirtten e-mail spam.
And it seems a new trend is actual born multilingual subjects.
Never visit one of these sites promoted through spammy e-mail.

If your host is using Apache 2.0 you could ask them to install httpBL blocklist from Project Honeypot

There is no easy way to use this in Nuke. http: BL admin module for Nuke doesn´t exist and it seems nobody is interested to create one while an other German project against spam gives detailed instructions how to change the mainfile.php and use their ban function.

Beneed this it takes often just too long till questions in the forum of project honeypot are answered. The forums are all public I mean every spammer can read there also without logged in and I find thats not an ideal situation but thats my personal opinion.

I use http:BL for a wordpress blog and the most IPs was blocked in the past through an other addon called "Bad Behavior".
It´s still my favorite and easy to install.
Sure, project honeypot got many positive feedbacks but I quess nothing is perfect. To fight against the daily spam you need to join several services.
I watched this problem a very long time and its still horrific for me how good the spam gangs are organized and how long it takes to register a website in China and promote this site afterthat through spammy e-mails. Thats just terrible.

My Spam Stopper module uses Bad Behaviour as part of it's anti-spam routine but I'm also 90% there with using httpBL with BBtoNuke.
As soon as the next version of RN is released I can finish it up as a complete package.
I am having to wait for the RN release though as the package will replace some files both in the subSilver template as well as the forum theme files to prevent any problems with people editing the files incorrectly.

Thats sounds good however, this should be available for every Nuke user and not only for RavenNuke.
http:BL for phpBB already exist and from what I heard its works great.

Yes it does work very well and unlike other methods, the admin can set the 'threat' level to trigger a block for the user.
I will provide a package for those that want to edit the files by hand and pre-edited files for RavenNuke but I will not be creating pre-edited file sets for any other version of nuke as it would require too much in terms of support and maintenance.

Thats cool Guardian but if I understand the concept correct that will not protect the complete Nuke website.
