I thought it might be fun to do a wish list of some of the things some the members/users would like to see in the future.
I'll go first
I would love to see a Profile section which is updated to have some of the recent popular social sites of the day.
The current profile only allows for:
E-mail address:
Private Message:
MSN Messenger:
Yahoo Messenger:
AIM Address:
ICQ Number:
Location:
Website:
Occupation:
Interests:
It would be great if Profile had options similar to Facebook for filling out profile information and also:
My Space:
Flickr:
Twitter:
MSN Messenger: With a longer field allowing longer address, current one is too short
And multiple avatar/picture upload so the user can have several pictures in their profile not just an avatar
How about you? what would you like to see in the future?
Best Regards,
jc
p.s. a Instant Messenger also

I would love to see a theme control panel where you could edit css and layout. I know that is would be a major under taking, but one can dream. |

Working on Instant messenger (as you know) - more of a stand alone PM system than 'chat' though |

Thanks Montego, I missed that! sorry for the repeating! some really great ideas on that thread!
Yes, I know that is coming Guardian looking forward to seeing it.
Had a question, I have seen a lot of tag cloud modules (blocks) in other cms. Are these good? and would they work for RN or other php nuke. I looked around for a cloud but was not able to find any for php nuke. I do have them installed in other cms I use but not sure of the full benefits of them.

Tag clouds can be beneficial IMHO depending on how they are written. They can artificially boost keyword count but also act as links to relevant content, for example when you click a word or phrase that brings up 'search' results from your site.
Personally I quite like them if I have control over them, especially if the cloud is driven from things that have been searched for on the site (and nasty words blocked).
A lot of people don't like then and for equally good reasons. |

The tag cloud I believe was originally invented to provide a type of navigation. However, lately people populate their tag could with all sorts of things.
The problem with a tag cloud in nuke is figuring out two things...
1)What data to use to populate it
2)Where do the tag cloud links lead too
I had one on clanthemes.com in the articles at one time and it really just didn't serve much of a purpose for the site. They are possible, but sort of pointless IMO. |

Wow, that's great to hear! if I may ask, which fields do you have in mind so far???
floppydrivez yes those tags specially for navigation do seam pointless. But if they help even a little for the engines maybe are worth considering...? probably one can skin a cat a variety of ways however...
