Have you manually activated MySQL in PHP5? You don't have to in 4.x versions as it is compiled in. In v5.0 you have to uncomment the Windows extension relating to MySQL. Also, I gave up trying to get Apache 2.0 to work with PHP5 (reliably). I have it working with Apache 1.3.31 and all is fine.

Well I'm just trying to install it on my computer so that I can test PHP scripts without having to upload them onto my website and use bandwidth. I don't have MySQL or any other kind of database. Do I need it for PHP to run properly?

I have a hosting company for that Smile

Anyway, I deleted everything and reinstalled PHP (.zip files) and Apache 1.3. Everything seems to be going well. I run Apache and in the console it says "Apache/1.3.31 <Win32> PHP/5.0.1 running...". I tried opening a .php file. Raw php in IE, and a black nothing in FireFox. I tried adding " AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .phtml" to the .conf file but that didn't help.

Thanks,
Gerard
