SPChat module wont stay active

Well hoping someone else has seen this one.

Why do I always seem to have the "odd" ones.

Anyways - I installed the SPChat module and the install went fine and us admins can access it and chat BUT no matter what I do to configure the module it always reverts back to the same settings.

Did I miss something - am I doing something wrong - has anyone else had this problem with a module that wont stay active?

If all else fails I'd try dropping the tables and reinstalling it. We've several active members using it and as you see use it here. I've yet to hear anyone say their permissions won't save.
