I believe one of the next generation features of phpNuke will be for users to easily tap into what will hopefully soon become a large network of nuke sites. In order for this to take place effectively, nuke sites will need to have ways to communicate with one another and for nuke sites that choose to do so, to participate in linking together. Let me give you an example that I am thinking of, and that I would like to help develop:

Imagine going to a nuke site and going into a chat room or discussion/forum area that allows you to communicate with people in the same named areas on other sites. For example, a world peace room or a nuke room or a game room. And when you go into that live chat room or discussion/forum area, you now have access to people and discussions on other nuke sites, many that you have never even heard of before. Thus, phpNuke would be a distributed network. So if converstions were taking place on one website and that website were to shut down for some reason, the conversations wouldn't stop. Just like if one node in a file-sharing network were to go down, file sharing would continue.

I am in the process of creating a few nuke sites of my own, on the same physical server. One logical initial step towards the development of the features I described above would be to allow sites on the same physical server to communicate with one another. In a sense, all that would have to happen is for the nuke applications to access different databases within the same server. I think that would be an easy way to show how such a system would work and the exciting things that could be done with it. I volunteer to be a beta test site to help this kind of system rapidly take physical form.

If you know of anyone who might be interested in going down in the history books as key participants in the development of next-generation nuke capabilities, please let me know by sending me an email at Brent@SpiritRising.TV .

Thank you for your attention and consideration.

I do remember about 2 years ago, a guy started this whole "Nuke Passport" kinda thing where one user's username will work with all network websites and if I remember correctly, he showed 3 website communicating to each other and then I never heard about it and couldn't find any information about the project. I think it's a wonderful idea if you ask me and I am sure other will say the same about it.
