No access to my site admin

Hi all, I got myself in a right pickle, what it is I first re uploaded my .htaccess and .staccess and now have no access to my admin I get the little grey box pop up to add id / pass etc but they dont work and I have over righted them... ouch
how do I go about getting access back to my site?

This is the burning question isn't it?

Ok going on the information you provided about your server and configuration. (none)

Check the path that you set in the files to verify that it is correct.

If that doesn't help restore the original htaccess and remove the staccess and start over.
