Yep Yet Another CMS.
Ariadne is a multilingual Web Application Server and Content Management System built on PHP. Ariadne has a rich user interface which includes wizards, pulldown menus, and an extremely flexible and easy to use WYSIWYG editor.

Ariadne has been used for anything from a personal website to an enterprise portal with more than a million pages of content.

Editorial:
This one looks a little more Geek oriented as it has an integrated (buggy) syntax highlighting editor which is used to create and edit the source code of pages on the fly from your browser.

I don't think it is stable enough for wide use yet but it seems to be getting very close and has a nice (small) following already. The editor is available as an independent application named Only registered users can see links on this board! Get registered or login! which we can expect to see being incorperated into other web based systems. Though there are some up comers that might give it a run for the money so to speak registered at sourceforge.

At any rate Ariadne will be one to watch it has a lot of whats missing in the status quo Portal and brings the CMS back to Content Management Systems without the learning curve of Typo3.

Indeed it's a nice but bit of a geek system.
The editor will work if your files are read+write enabled for everyone (uid nobody) or if the system runs as your uid.
I wonder how much people can actualy do this (don't forget safe_mode)

I don't think it will be a system for everyone if it's used like that.
But if the default system works nice without hacking a lot of people may switch
