I have the CNB YA 'Allow User Email Change:' option switched to 'Yes', but my website users are not able to change the original e-mail address they supplied when registering.
When they attempt to change their e-mail address, they receive an e-mail notification at the new e-mail address they have selected, which reads:
You or someone else has used your account to change your registered email address from your-email@MYWEBSITE.com to yourNEWemail@MYWEBSITE.com in site MYSITE.
To confirm the email change process you should visit the following link:
http://www.MYWEBSITE.com/modules.php?name=Your_Account&op=changemail&id=3&mail=yourNEWemail@MYWEBSITE.com&check_num=8787e03c2a
However, when the user clicks the link in the e-mail to confirm the new address, they reach the website, but with the following message:
Change mail
ERROR: Something wrong has happened in the changing pf your registered email!!
Try Again.
Any help will be appreciated. |

Hey 'Hit S***!...
Have you forgotten? You are not supposed to be replying to me! Hmmm...Maybe like your PC, you youself now require a memory upgrade?!
Thanks anyway...I have now checked the field and see that it could be the sheep causing the problem as the permission usually only allows cows.

Hmmmm
Over the last 6 yrs or so, I , like a lot of the nuke guys, have a high profile in support for gaming. I also have a rep there for being blunt, not rude just blunt.
So much so I was given a special title to that effect.
If someone posted something that was wrong or rubbish I would say so, then say why and what fixed it. Personalities never entered into it, nor was there ever a post I made that flamed someone personally.
Support forums are just that..for support, not for airing dirty laundry in public
I never looked to see who I was helping out, that was never important, whats was important is that the information was there for future reference to others.

We have certain forums where opinions and debates are welcomed and encouraged. Remember to debate the issues and not attack the person. Passion is understandable for certain subjects/topics. I encourage that! But, remember that the purpose of a debate is not to make someone agree with you. It's more to explain why you believe what you believe.

I appreciate what you have done to help me Hitwalker. Don't let people who are rude and obnoxious spoil your day in anyway. 99% of the time I have found people here that are always ready to help us less educated in the php world out.
Tangoman, there is no call for the attacks and language. Take a deep breath and move on. |

Respect Hitwalker !
You did not condescend to give Tangoman an answer in the same unfair way.

What an OBSURDE world we live in!
Fellow site users, you will note how, until now, I have not responded to this thread any further.
However, I have again been notified of a posting response and after discovering just how ‘popular’ this thread has become, I have been forced to add this further information…
As you will see, my original reply to the darling Mr Hitwalker’s posting fundamentally questioned, ‘…Have you forgotten? You are not supposed to be replying to me!...’
What no one other than Hitwalker and I am aware of, is the derogatory abuse I received when chatting with the aforementioned person on MSN.
Simply, he attempted to direct me on how to perform a fix on my website, but when I explained that the fix was not working, (paraphrasing), I was told that I was immature and should listen and do what I am told to do.
Mr Hitwalker simply found that his knickers became knotted because he was being told by me that the advise he was giving was not working.
I have NEVER known anyone to become so wound up over such an issue and surely anyone else would simply ‘give up’ helping a person in a polite manor, without the abusive, moreover UNECISSARY comments etc.
It is however, extremely satisfying to learn from this thread, how loyal individuals can be.
However in this case it is my personal opinion that all posting here are wrong with their responses and views and this is unfortunately due to the lack of ALL the facts, (until now).
Please do not read this final sentence as arrogant, but moreover practical. Do not post here any further expecting a response from ME as I consider this unfortunate, but none the less interesting and amusing thread now closed. However, by all means continue to post your thoughts to one another, as this is truly entertaining and an insight etc. |

Tangoman,
Keep your personal comments offline and between you and whomever. I will not tolerate this crap. You come here and are helped constantly which is why we are here. Have you donated or contributed anything back?
I can find nothing at all in HW's response that should have provoked these comments. Keep in mind that because of different cultures and languages, words do not always mean the same thing. "Immature", for example, may have been more of a colloquialism than a statement of your actions. Although with the way you have responded here, been moderated once, and now again, one might wonder?
Regardless of what has gone on offline and I don't care as that does not concern me, what goes on in public is my concern and the concerns of those that frequent this site. If you do not want help from someone then just ignore them but do not use these forums for your personal soap box accusations and inflammatory remarks.
I am leaving this post active for a while while I consider whether or not to move it. I want you, as well as all, to be able to come here for help and eventually offer help to others. But, continuation of this behavior will result in banning and/or being ignored by everyone. We do not like to do that, but will, to protect the integrity and freedom of these forums. I have locked this topic and caution everyone about opening another thread to continue it. In a word, don't. Quite frankly, bluntly, and to the point, this is my site and I will manage it the way I see fit. |
