tEA-TiME writes "I have started to develop a project for the PHP and Nuke communities in general for a PHP Passport. This will (hopefully) work very much like the Microsoft Passport (except it won't expose all your financial data). Basically, a service that a person can register with (for free), and then PHPNuke and other PHP sites which use the service (also free) can share that common passport user database. This mean no more having eight million user names / password combos for all the different sites, as well as not having to fill in all the info everytime. Please send me an email to tEA-TiME if you would like to be involved. Read More...

FB has released Alpha 2 of v7.0 phpnuke. So, I am removing the Alpha 1 download. It was pretty buggy anyway, which is expected of an Alpha release. As soon as I can get my hands on an Alpha 2 copy I will make it available here.

From FB: PHP-Nuke 6.5 is now out to the public. As many of you already know this new version carries a lot of new stuff, fixes and security patches... but the main new feature is the phpBB 2.x forums integration. Read here for the changes or just start to download it from here.

phpNUKE version 6.5 Problems More about

Posted on Sunday, February 16, 2003 @ 20:46:01 CST in PHP-Nuke
by gcf

Well I just tried phpNuke version 6.5Beta8 with KISGB and forget about it. FB has done all kinds of changing tables and field names to integrate phpbb into phpNuke. Personally I think it's a bad move. Modules and Blocks may be breaking all over the place because of this. DO NOT TRY TO USE THE CURRENT PHPNUKE VERSION OF KISGB WITH VERSION 6.5!!! I personally take issue with FB's methodology to make such drastic changes in the name of integrating a forum application. phpNuke is supposed to be a Portal/CMS. It's purpose is to provide the framework for applications, not to be an all-in-all in and of itself. I have a preliminary fix working for KISGB. You can test KISGB with phpNuke version 6.5 here. By version 6 of any software application you should not be making these types of changes, imo, unless you also provide a seamless integration. If you want to test KISGB with phpNuke 6.5x, contact me for the fix until I publish it.
