I was just wondering if anybody in these forums participates in any distributed computing projects, either Folding@home, or SETI@home?

I was wondering if we should start a RN team?

I haven't started yet myself, I had heard of SETI@home but not Folding@home so thought I would ask the question.

What are you runninng Evaders?

Nvidia GTX 260 (216 cores) on the GPU2 client, Core i7 @ 3.2 Ghz on the SMP client
The GPU2 can go from 5000 to 7000 PPD, while the SMP can get from 2000 to 3000 PPD... all depending on the WU.

I keep them running 24/7 unless I'm gaming.

I run Folding@home because it seems like a worthwhile project that may actually contribute to some practical science research. There's something like 50 papers from these guys at Stanford. Not to say any other projects or worse, but I figure cancer research over alien detection or prime number finding... Smile

Man I'm going to have to get another rig running if I want to donate to another team Smile

If there is enough interest I'll setup a RavenNuke team. I have an old desktop I am going to upgrade so once that is done I'll use that. Very Happy
