i have done a bit of a google on it and checked my prefix and everything looks ok in the config.php and wonder if anyone could give me some insight as to why this has just happened

That looks like a MySQL connection error. Nuke can't read the config table. Something is amiss in your config.php file with the MySQL parameters.

Or, which has been going on a LOT lately, your host has limited your amount of SQL queries per hour or per day. Once you hit that limit, wham! you get the above errors. If you try to open phpMyAdmin, you will most likely see the exact error "Permission Denied for user user@localhost" and a MAX queries exceeded number. That's a clue you need a new host. Nuke sites are notoriously query inefficient, and a lot of hosts are adding MAX queries per hour to force Nuke sites out of their systems.

There are also several posts around here on how to make several DB users and have Nuke rotate between them. That might be a solution until you find a real host.. If what Raven said isn't the case (bad config.php MySQL settings), then most likely you have a quota.
