authorization required

hey all,

thanks for taking the time to respond.

i have already installed sentinel NukeSentinel_242_71-79 on one site no problem.

the catch is a friend of mine gaming clan needs it on theirs. the database says its 7.5 so edited and uploaded everything.

when i try to log into admin in nuke i get a window that pops up for username and password. i tyr the nuke one and get authorization required 404 error.

i tried uploading than installing the .ht&.staccess and get to a white page with illegal access detected.

as per previous posts i renamed the .htaccess and .staccess than i could access part of the admin with illegal access detected in top left corner.

the problem may be that i dont know exactly what version of nuke they are using.

any help would be greatly appreciated. AGAIN LOL

hey thanks for the reply but what may i be looking for lol?

i compared the table to the one i have working on another site and the only difference is there was no .htaccess path. i put one in and no luck.

well i suggest you start over.
i think you started wrong...
first upload all files...
then edit the files as the install suggest..
then as last set the admin pass and take care of the httpauth login..
Its correct that if any of these is wrong you will get blank pages or like that..

hey all,

could never get it working for some reason. so i followed all the steps backwards to uninstall and now it lets me log into the nuke admin but if i click on say forums it loops back to the admin page.

any ideas?

Possible problem 1:
Sounds like you added the .staccess code into the .htaccess file before you has the .staccess file filled with the admin login info.

Before adding that code to the .htaccess file you must first goto:
http://www.yoursite.com/admin.php?op=ABAuthListScan

This scans the admin table in nuke and copies the aid over to the NS authors table.

Then you must goto:
http://www.yoursite.com/admin.php?op=ABAuthList

In this panel you set all the admins NukeSentinel access passwords.

In that same panel provided you have your .staccees file linked in the main NS admin screen and CHMODed to 666 you will get this link to build the .staccess file:
http://www.yoursite.com/admin.php?op=ABCGIBuild

Once you complete these 3 steps you then add the .staccess code to your .htaccess file.

Possible Problem 2:
Sounds also like you may have turned on HTTP Auth before setting up the admins in NukeSentinel. You will following the same steps above but instead of building the .staccess file you would activate HTTP Auth from the main NS admin screen.
