I'm really stumped here. I downgraded my Nuke to 7.6 from 7.8 and installed the newest Sentinel because I was having database problems with 7.8. Now it seems that I'm having the same problem with 7.6. My host tells me that I am hitting the maximum 50,000 query limit on the sql server. I haven't changed anything though. They tell me that a script is remaining open, but I have no idea how to tell which one it might be. The server never refreshes, but when I delete my master account that accesses the database and recreate it again, the problem is gone. Deleting the account closes the offending script. I've had to do this twice in the past 24 hours. Does this appear to be a nuke problem? I can't even access the phpadmin program until this is done.

As a second part to this question, can I create a second nuke installation outside of my root directory? I was thinking of doing this and transferring data over to resolve the problem. What tables need to transfer to keep my users and forums fully intact?

I'm pulling my hair out on this issue. I've been runnin Nuke for a few years, and this started happening for the past few days.

I've never heard of anything like this and it is really impossible with PHP. Unless they mean a script is in a never ending loop - that is possible. If that is the case, they should be able to tell you what sql is hung up by using a utility such as mytop.

As to your second question, why not just clone the entire database?

I'm having far too many problems and decided on a full reinstall of 7.6 from scratch. If a backup my database, will everything be intact once I restore it to my fresh site? Running nukesql deletes everything including all contents, correct? I've had my Polls screwed up, my right blocks disappeared, and who knows what else. Thanks for your help Raven. Whould I start wul a clean install of Chat's 7.6 patched 3.1?

I would start with an install of 7.6 patched 3.1 but don't use nukesql. Try starting out with your database as it is and work from there.
