Hi all, could someone explain the procedure for resetting the CGIAu
it was working fine untill I re-uploaded the .staccess and htaccess standard files and I seem to be trying everything but still with no joy, keep getting the box pop up with password and ID needed but doesnt work?

Hello again all I deleted the .staccess and htaccess files and can now get back into my site I tried changing the Admin cgiAuth to HTTPAuth and now I dont have any more problems? could someone please explain what the difference between these two are? is one better than the other?

HTTPAuth works with the script to generate the authentification box.
cgiAuth works from the server like if you used CPanel to protect a directory.

cgiAuth is slightly stronger protection. That doesn't mean the HTTPAuth isn't very good protection.

Oh I see ok I did have cgiAuth working before but what ever I try now it doesnt want to, but anyway as you say HTTPAuth is still good so I`ll stick with that.
